Ingredients

  • 1 cup All-purpose flour Sifted
  • 1 tsp Baking powder Helps rise
  • 1 pinch Salt Enhances flavor
  • 2 large Eggs Room temperature
  • ½ cup Granulated sugar Adds sweetness
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract For aroma
  • ¼ cup Heavy cream For a soft texture
  • cup Unsalted butter Melted & cooled
  • - Powdered sugar For dusting optional

Instructions

  • 1️⃣ Prepare Dry Ingredients:
  • In a medium bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  • 2️⃣ Beat Eggs & Sugar:
  • In a large bowl, whisk eggs and sugar for 3-4 minutes until pale and fluffy.
  • 3️⃣ Mix in Vanilla & Cream:
  • Stir in vanilla extract and heavy cream until smooth.
  • 4️⃣ Fold in Dry Ingredients:
  • Gently fold in the flour mixture until just combined.
  • 5️⃣ Incorporate Melted Butter:
  • Slowly mix in melted butter until fully incorporated. Do not overmix.
  • 6️⃣ Chill the Batter:
  • Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour (for the signature hump!).
  • 7️⃣ Preheat & Prepare Pan:
  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Grease and flour a madeleine pan.
  • 8️⃣ Fill & Bake:
  • Fill each mold ¾ full and bake for 10-12 minutes until golden brown.
  • 9️⃣ Cool & Serve:
  • Let cool for 2 minutes in the pan, then transfer to a wire rack.
  • Dust with powdered sugar or dip in chocolate for extra indulgence.

  • For extra fluffiness, chill the batter overnight.
