Ingredients

  • 2 cups Fresh strawberries Hulled and rinsed
  • 1 cup Fresh lemon juice From 4–6 lemons
  • ½ –¾ cup Sugar Adjust to taste
  • 4 cups Water Divided
  • 2 cups Ice Crushed or cubed
  • 4 slices Lemon For garnish
  • 6 leaves Fresh mint Optional garnish

Instructions

  • Make the simple syrup:
  • In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup water and sugar. Heat gently until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and cool.

  • Blend the strawberries:
  • Add strawberries and 1 cup cold water to a blender. Blend until smooth. Strain for a smoother texture if preferred.

  • Mix lemonade:
  • In a large pitcher, combine strawberry puree, lemon juice, simple syrup, and remaining water. Stir to combine. Taste and adjust sweetness or tartness.

  • Chill and serve:
  • Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. Serve over ice and garnish with lemon slices and mint.

Notes

This homemade strawberry lemonade can be made up to 24 hours ahead. Keep refrigerated and add ice just before serving. For a twist, replace strawberries with raspberries or infuse the syrup with mint or basil.
