Equipment

  • 1 Blender For pureeing the strawberries
  • 1 Large pitcher For mixing and storing
  • 1 Citrus juicer To extract fresh lemon juice

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup fresh strawberries hulled and halved
  • 3/4 cup lemon juice freshly squeezed 4–5 lemons
  • 1/2 3/4 cup sugar or honey adjust to taste
  • 4 cups cold water
  • 1 cup ice plus more for serving
  • lemon slices optional for garnish
  • strawberry slices optional for garnish
  • 1 pinch salt optional enhances flavor

Instructions
 

  • Add strawberries and 1/4 cup water to a blender. Blend until smooth. Strain if you prefer a seedless lemonade.
  • In a large pitcher, stir lemon juice and sugar together until the sugar is mostly dissolved.
  • Add the strawberry puree to the pitcher and mix well.
  • Pour in the remaining cold water, then stir in the ice.
  • Chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes before serving.
  • Taste and adjust sweetness if needed. Serve over ice and garnish with fruit slices.

Notes

  • For a lower-sugar version, use monk fruit or stevia.
  • Add fresh mint, basil, or even lime for a flavor twist.
  • Swap water with sparkling water for a fizzy lemonade.
